This is a historic day in technology. Computers are beginning to see into our human lives. Google Goggles has launched for the iPhone.
It is still in early stages, and like many other Google products, they age like wine.
It can’t yet identify what species of tree frog that is stuck to your window. Nor can it count the number of lily pads on a pond.
But someday, it shall! And when it does, casual scientific observation will become a nuance of life.
Google Search, as it stands, is based on user input consisting of words, characters, numbers, and more broadly: language.
Google Visual Search will allow you to ask Google to describe the thing you are looking at, even if you don’t know what it is or what to type in to search for it.
I hope they have plans for document import by picture using this!
