Oil Spill Hits Grand Isle

A survey of the oil spill near Grand Isle shows massive blobs of dispersed oil washing up. Some sources voice warning against the use of dispersants because they require a large area of ocean to dilute. They are known to create dead zones in non-circulated water and may do so in the marshlands of of the Gulf of Mexico.

I used to live a block from that shore which, in my lifetime, will never be the same. If you’ve noticed my other posts about the ocean, there’s a reason. We are all far more connected to it than we know. It is the nexus of life on Earth. I only pray that everyone understands the sorrow of this event and realize that this cheap oil you hear about doesn’t exist. God only knows the true price to be paid by our bodies, the planet, and our descendants.

Funding research into alternatives is a good start. Plants have unlocked the secret of solar power and use it produce all of their energy. Our sun is a giant fusion reactor outputting a notable amount of energy.
